D. Display
We
encourage creativity and individuality in merchandising displays. Our goal is for The HandCrafter’s Barn,
in its entirety, to have a tight, well-merchandised look in contrast to the
random scattered appearance of a flea market. We do not allow plastic or metal
shelves. Pegboard is allowed in a
tasteful and controlled fashion. We have an ample stock room so extra inventory
need not clutter the booth. For the
safety of our customers, we ask that all displays be confined to rental space
and not spill out into the aisles.
There is common space available in the lobby, atrium, and vestibule and
behind the front desk at no charge for larger items. Please inquire. If you are unable to set up your own
display our staff is happy to create one for you. There are no additional
charges for this type of assistance.
4 Factors that Determine Our Success:

Successful craft malls are operated by diligent professionals who have as aptitude for business and a genuine interest in the success of their Crafters. A knowledgeable and friendly staff will always greet you at the door. You can concentrate on taking pride in creating high-quality products while The HandCrafter’s barn focuses on displaying your inventory, marketing your product and making sales. Come investigate what The HandCrafter’s Barn can do for you with the wide range of services and support we offer.
Atmosphere
The HandCrafter’s Barn is an 18th century landmark post & beam building occupying a curbside location on a major tourist artery in the Mount Washington Valley. It is a unique, highly visible property featuring six award-winning flowerbed. Several hand-carved wooden elements also adorn the front of the property adding to its curbside appeal. This setting, combined with the presence of Mother Nature (a scenic vista affording lovely mountain views is located directly across the street), makes a picturesque and ambient shopping environment. The reason why The HandCrafter’s Barn is one of New England’s premier craft malls is because the striking appearance of the property has created one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Mount Washington Valley.
4Season Economy
North Conway is a major four-season tourist economy. The Mount Washington Valley offers the best most diverse shopping in northern New England-and it’s all tax-free! What is the Mount Washington Valley? A shopper’s paradise, a natural playground, a skier’s Mecca and a family-friendly destination resort. We are located in one of the most geographically rich environments in the United States. The White Mountain National Forest, the NH Lakes region, the seashore and 6 distinguished ski areas are all within a 45-mile radius, with North Conway Village a hub of centralized activity. Add to this equation our status as one of the most visited foliage areas in the world and you can see why more tourist dollars are spent within Northern New Hampshire than anywhere else in the state. As they say, for every season there’s a reason to visit the Valley.
Quality
The HandCrafter’s Barn deals with quality, American made handcrafted items and artwork. We do not accept antiques or collectibles. Each artisan is juried into the facility. Our items range from traditional crafts to contemporary artwork, with prices ranging from $2.50 to $1800. All of our display booths are hand-constructed in wood keeping in theme with the hand-pegged wooden atmosphere of The Barn. We do not display on metal shelves. We encourage and assist our Artisans in exhibiting individuality in their booth display. We want our artisans to consider their booths as their own, individual storefront. We strongly believe that the sum total of The HandCrafter’s Barn is only as stellar as the quality of its individual Artisans.
